The 2008 British GT Championship ended with CRS as Team Champions. The 2008
Formula Renault UK Championship saw CRS driver, Adam Christodoulou, take the
Championship crown. These are fantastic year one results for CRS but it’s
not over yet; the team still has some work to do, namely the final two rounds
of the 2008 FIA GT Championship.
The ultra competitive GT2 class title has gone to AF Corse but CRS is fighting
hard for the runner-up spot and is currently just seven points adrift of second
place. James Sutton has been drafted in for Zolder, teaming up with Tim Mullen
who took second place at Nogaro recently. As usual the no.56 Ferrari will be
raced by Andrew Kirkaldy and Rob Bell. All four drivers know the task at Zolder
is to take as many points as possible to help the championship battle.
“I’m really excited to be racing with CRS at Zolder,” commented
Sutton. “I drove the GT2 Ferrari at Spa and, although I didn’t
get to race, I did enough to know that it is a fantastic racing car so I can’t
wait to get stuck in. I haven’t raced at Zolder before but I’ve
been around it in a road car so I know where all the corners are. It seems
like a good track, apart from a chicane in the middle that seems a bit out
of place. I hope I can go out there and help the team continue its current
top form.”
The two-hour race will be shown live on Motors TV this Sunday at midday in
the UK.
