September 13, 2008
CRS Ferrari no.56 will start tomorrow’s FIA GT race from pole position
after a fantastic performance by Dirk Müller in Brno today. The German
driver, who took pole for this race last year, made sure that history repeated
itself with a scorching 1:57.266 lap around the Czech track. Tim Mullen took
the sister Ferrari to fourth place so both CRS cars will start from the front
two rows tomorrow.
To round off a great day the team has also just heard that Rob Bell – who
Dirk is standing in for this weekend – is on GT2 pole position for tomorrow’s
Le Mans Series race at Silverstone, so it has been a good day for CR Scuderia.
“That might look easy but, believe me, it isn’t,” said Dirk,
the reigning GT2 Champion. “I am very happy for the team as they provided
me with a brilliant car today. I wasn’t actually supposed to qualify
today so I didn’t do any running on new tyres, but we changed our plan
at the last minute, and I have to say that the car on low fuel was awesome!
As far as tomorrow’s race goes pole position is a great place to start.
The Ferrari is strong over a distance too so we’re really looking forward
to the race now.”
Round seven of the FIA GT Championship takes place tomorrow at 1315hrs (local
time).
