The race weekend in Bucharest is now well underway and it’s a case of ‘so far so good’ for CR Scuderia. Before the track action got started yesterday CRS Team Principal, Chris Niarchos, was delighted to welcome Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu, the Prime Minister of Romania, to the team garage. The pair had a long chat while Chris showed the Prime Minister around the GT2 Ferrari and the team downed tools for a few minutes as there were suddenly a lot of camera crews in the garage!

It’s very hot in Bucharest today which makes it hard work for everyone, especially the drivers. It’s all going to plan though as Andrew Kirkaldy was the fastest of the GT2 runners in this morning’s pre-qualifying session, closely followed by Tim Mullen, so hopes are high for qualifying and the first of the weekend’s two races later this evening.

There has been a change to the points procedure for the two races in Bucharest with both events now eligible for half points – a win is 5 points, then 4, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5. Qualifying is due to start in an hour and the first race is at 1815hrs (local time).
