News Archive » CR Scuderia Testing Round-Up
February 27, 2008
The last few days have been very busy for CR Scuderia, with the GT team testing
the British GT and FIA GT cars in Spain and the Formula Renault team running
at Rockingham. The GT test ran especially smoothly and ended on a high note
when Rob Bell took the lap record at Monteblanco.
Heading to Spain for the warmer climate paid off for the GT team as the weather
was perfect throughout the test. The team worked through the entire Michelin
test plan for the FIA GT Ferraris and also completed a full test programme
for the British GT cars.
“The testing all went according to plan,” said Chris Niarchos,
who will partner Tim Mullen in car 55 in FIA GT this year. “The cars
all ran well and I must say it’s great to be back on Michelin rubber.
Perhaps the best thing about this test though is that I have seen how the new
team is gelling and I am thrilled with how well everyone is working together,
all pulling in the same direction.”
“We have had a very successful test,” said James Sutton, who,
along with Luke Hines, was on driving duty in the British GT cars. “We
managed to do an awful lot of running with no dramas and both Luke and I are
all fired up for Oulton Park now.”
Adam Christodoulou, Scott Jenkins, Sten Pentus and Ryuji Yamamoto were all
on duty for the CRS Formula Renault team at Rockingham and Adam set the pace
for much of the two-day test.
“That was all very positive,” said Adam. “We were all on
the pace throughout the test and I think we’ll be up there when it comes
to the Rockingham race. The times were all very close and I was pleased I was
able to run consistently.”
Next up for CR Scuderia is a two-day Formula Renault test at Brands Hatch
next week and the British GT media day at Silverstone next Thursday (6 March).
