After the ups and downs of yesterday evening, the Scuderia Ecosse team has
had a quiet night at Spa, making steady progress through the field with Ferrari
no.63. Chris Niarchos, Andrew Kirkaldy and Tim Sugden have all completed long
runs during the night. They are now running strongly in fifth position.
23:45: Tim Sugden hands over to Chris Niarchos who heads out for his first
double-stint of the race.
01:03: Chris Niarchos pits before heading out for the second half of his stint.
01:40: Ferrari 63 is running in seventh place. The GT2 order is Lieb, Aguas,
Narac, Ruberti, Edwards, Zani, Niarchos.
02:15: Chris Niarchos has a small, intentional, trip across the gravel to
avoid a spinning GT3 Porsche.
02:23: Chris comes in to hand over to Andrew Kirkaldy. The car is still in
P7 with a seven lap gap to P6.
Chris Niarchos:
“The car is feeling really good; I had a great time out there. I had
no dramas apart from my quick trip across the gravel to avoid that Porsche.
I’m happy to report all is well and the car is in one piece!”
03:38: Kirkaldy pits as planned and rejoins.
04:55: Andrew Kirkaldy pits to hand over to Tim Sugden.
06:00: The rain comes again so Tim pits for wets.
06:33: The rain has stopped so Tim pits again for slick tyres.
07:30: The GT2 order is Lieb, Aguas, Leitz, Edwards, Zani, Case, Sugden.
07:35: Tim has made up time on the sixth-placed GT2 Ferrari and is just 58
seconds behind. The Ferrari then pits unexpectedly and Tim moves up to sixth.
07:54: Tim pits to hand over to Chris Niarchos. The car is fitted with intermediate
tyres as it has started to rain again.
08:00: The safety car comes out as Rui Aguas has gone off at Eau Rouge in
the sole remaining AF Corse Ferrari.
08:57: Heavy rain is falling at Spa now. Chris Niarchos comes in to hand over
to Andrew Kirkaldy.
09:00: Ferrari 63 is now in fifth place. The GT2 order is Collard, Narac,
Maassen, Zani, Kirkaldy.
