July 4, 2007
If it’s July, it must be nearly time for the Spa 24 Hours! The lights
will go out for the start of the Belgian classic on Saturday 28 July and Scuderia
Ecosse will be there with a team of six top-flight racing drivers.
Ferrari no.62 will see regular driver Tim Mullen joined by the Czech duo of
Tomas Enge and Jarek Janis, who currently share the second seat in that car.
The no.63 Ferrari of Chris Niarchos and Andrew Kirkaldy will have it’s
driving team strengthened with the arrival of Tim Sugden, winner of last year’s
FIA GT race at Brno, in a Ferrari 430.
The team’s attention will not turn to Spa though until after this weekend’s
FIA GT race at Oschersleben as Team Principal, Stewart Roden, explains:
“The Spa 24 Hours is a very important event as there are so many points
up for grabs. We know we can win it so that is what we are setting out to do.
I feel that the driver line-up we have will give us our best possible chance
of success. We’ve been working hard, especially with Pirelli, and we’re
looking forward to getting out there and doing our thing. Before that though
we have an important race to run this weekend in Oschersleben. We have to come
back from our performance at Monza and we intend to give it everything we’ve
got.”
