June 18, 2006

The Ferrari 430 has been running beautifully through the night at Le Mans.

Andrew Kirkaldy got straight down to business during his double stint, hunting down the second placed Spyker, which he duly passed just before he pitted at 0040hrs to hand over to Chris Niarchos. Kirkaldy exited the car with a huge grin on his face after thoroughly enjoying his stint, albeit with a sore right foot from pressing the throttle so hard as Tim Mullen did earlier on tonight.

Chris Niarchos had another great run for a Le Mans rookie before handing back to Mullen for a long run. Tim has just got out of the car after a double stint with cramp in his leg so the team physio will have him mended, refreshed and ready to go again in a few hours’ time.

Andrew Kirkaldy is now on track in third place and lapping faster than all the other GT2 runners. It’s nearly dawn and we are half way through this epic race.
