June 1 , 2006
The Scuderia Ecosse driving team for the 2006 Le Mans 24 Hours is Andrew Kirkaldy, Tim Mullen and…Chris Niarchos! Niarchos replaces Nathan Kinch who has other commitments. This is the first Le Mans for the ever-popular Greek/Canadian and he is looking forward to it immensely.
“Ever since I was a young boy, the Le Mans 24 Hours was the race I always wanted to see,” said Chris. “In my book it’s the world’s biggest race and to have the chance to attend was a lifelong goal. To have the privilege to compete, and be part of the world’s best GT team, at the world’s biggest race, is all my Christmas’ coming at once. I am also looking forward to learning as much as possible from my two co-drivers: Tim Mullen and Andrew Kirkaldy, who are certainly two of the best GT drivers in the world today. I simply cannot wait!!”
The on-track action begins this Sunday (4 June) with the Le Mans Test Day.
