News Archive » CRS Hoping to Turn Up the Heat in Hungary August 17, 2010 The CRS Racing team travels to Budapest in Hungary this weekend for the fourth round of the 2010 Le Mans Series. It’s a night race at the Hungaroring and CRS Racing will be hoping to turn the speed shown all year into two good finishing positions. The Hungaroring, situated just outside the city of Budapest, is notoriously tight and twisty and has even been described as ‘Monaco, without the barriers’. Don’t expect a processional GT race though as the circuit has hosted some epic GT races over the last few years. Andrew Kirkaldy is a previous winner at the Hungaroring and Tim Mullen is always quick there, taking a podium finish in recent years. The No.91 CRS Ferrari drivers are still pushing hard for their first LMS podium of 2010. “We’ve had three top three grid positions so far this year,” said Tim. “But for one reason or another we haven’t been able to convert them into top finishing positions. Hopefully we can put that right this weekend. It’s a track we are usually quick at but then we have been quick everywhere this year so we’ll work hard to make sure we are in with a shot this time.” The No.90 CRS Ferrari will have a two-man crew on board this weekend as Pierre Kaffer is on ALMS duty at Road America. Phil Quaife is a fan of the Hungaroring and is looking forward to hitting the track with Pierre Ehret. “I like the Hungaroring as it has lots of different challenging sections,” said Phil. “I raced there in the Porsche Supercup in 2007 and really enjoyed it so it will be good to go back in the Ferrari. I think the track will suit our car as there are ! a lot of fast changes of direction. It’s going to be hard work as it will be very hot but I get to do lots of driving this weekend so that’s great. We’ll miss Pierre (Kaffer) of course but I think Pierre Ehret and I can get the job done.” Like last time out at the Algarve, the Hungarian event is a night race so it starts late on Sunday at 4pm and runs into the darkness, finishing at around 10pm.
